Magnesium chloride, molecular formula is MgCl2·6H2O, relative molecular mass is 203.3. magnesium chloride is white, odorless, monoclinic system solid with bitterness. It is hexahydrate at normal temperature, when temperature is 95-118°C, it will lose 2 molecular crystal water, when temperature ≥230 oC, it will lose 5 molecular crystal water. Its relative density is 1.569, it is easily soluble in water and extremely easy deliquescence.
